BATTLE SHIP COVE ~ FALL RIVER, MASSACHUSETTS

I recently had the opportunity to visit Battleship Cove in Fall River, Massachusetts. It is the the JOSEPH P. KENNEDY JR. destroyer, the HIDDENSEE a German missile corvette class. There are also two PT boats...PT boat PT-796, joined in 1984 by PT-617, forming the only pair of restored PT boats on display in the world. PT-617 is the only remaining Elco PT boat on display similar to that of John F. Kennedy's PT-109. 

There are other exhibits to be seen and it's easy to spend a few hours roaming from boat to boat. Be aware that you will be going up and down ladders and stepping through hatchways and in the submarine some very narrow passage ways. A great take in...I am sure that I will return in the future.

 HIDDENSEE was closed to visitors while I was there.
